Of all the albums I have ever wanted to hear again, and it is the only one out of print...In the Garden. I have spent HOURS listening to that one over and over, and I think someone either took it from me, or "lost" it for me. How sad it can't ever be replaced!

Today I heard your Roses and Lace on XMRadio, my first time for your incredible music! As much as I love Narada artists, I don't know how I missed you both before. I had to go to Amazon.com and get your 5 best albums immediately. Great music, and wish I could see your concert. Thank goodness for YouTube. Best wishes, for many more successful years together.

I was introduced to your music 19 years ago in my 6th grade class in Coupeville! Yup. Mr. Tingstad, your father, was my teacher (wonderful, inspiring teacher and man). He used to play your music to us every morning. =) I am happy to hear of all your success. Good luck this sunday!

You won’t believe how happy I was to see that Tingstad and Rumbel were scheduled to come to my area of the country. As soon as I saw the dates on your web-site I bought tickets for the show in Arlington VA. Today I looked up directions and found the show is in WA not VA. Man, I was bummed. Please come to Virginia soon.

I just happened upon your CD Acoustic Garden and have been listening to it, non-stop for 4 hours. I have not found a CD in the past year that compares to your captivating soul-searching harmonies. I plan to purchase more of your wonderful music. In my 20 some years of writing poetry, the last 15 months were dry until I heard your music. Thank you for getting my creative-juices flowing again. Do you ever have concerts in the Mid West? I live across the Ohio River (Cincinnati) in Nothern Kentucky. I would love to hear you in concert!

Your music is very uplifting, soothing and totally enjoyable. I am at a loss for words to describe the feeling when i hear "Oaks" playing. How do i get a piano music sheet for that so i can play? I appreciate your response. Thank you.

We were lucky enough to come hear you Sat. Dec. 22nd in Olympia, WA, at the Performing Arts Center. I am a musician (piano and percussion) in Tacoma, and would like you to know that you two and your bass player and David Lantz and his guys delivered MORE for our money than pretty much any concert I've ever attended. Thank you and I'll be sure to follow you through the New Year.

Thoroughly enjoyed your music, wit and humor at Wenatchee. Eric, at times it seems like you have more than six strings going on! Nancy, I can appreciate your quest to connect with your audience; my wife is a painter, and obtaining client feedback is a challenge; your approach with the web and voluntary email addresses seems like an efficient bet. Looking forward to the next time . . . .

I have been listening to your music for years and years. It is my favorite sound in the whole world.
I would love to see a performance in person and hopefully after I retire from teaching (May, '08) , I will get a chance.
Your Tour Dates go only until Feb. What's in the mix for next summer and
fall?
Hope to see you then. Mike

I can't agree more with everybody here who wants you to re-release "The Gift" on CD. I have the original on a cassette..and although it still sounds pretty good, I don't know what I'd do if for some reason it had a future problem and I could no longer listen to it!!! "The Gift" is my MOST favorite recording to relax with, get into the spirit of Christmas and recall wonderful memories which I relive by hearing your music. Please, please, please consider re-releasing it for all of us long-time fans and new ones to come! You won't go wrong by doing so!!

Hey guys,.
You are awesome! Nancy, I'm trying to convince my wife to learn to play like you. Eric, I used one of your songs for an audition into a guitar music program. You two are an inspiration. Eric, I've always loved your tone/sound. What the devil kind of classical guitar do you use? Keep making music! Later.

If Bill and Melinda Gates will split the cost 50-50 (and why not?), I would be very interested in investing in a re-release of The Gift on CD next year. It is, after all, unquestionably the best holiday instrumental album of all time. I said so on iTunes, but people like Sue want a CD, and rightly so.

Nice website; subtle, understated and pleasant~
Was so pleased to see you last year in Austin...a real treat. Don't even remember when I saw you the first time, but it was years ago and I liked you enough to purchase 3 new CDs over the years. Thanks for being around.
(An incidental aside....I like the font that "Destinations" and "Guestbook" are written in. Are you willing to share what it is? I'd like to use it for some of my own writing....if that's cool~
Thanks again; enjoy your tour~

Hello! Thanks for the Card. I'm on the new Christmas CD with the SF Singing Group Chanticleer. The tune "Holiday Cheer" is a mixture of "Jingle Bells" and Stravinsky's "Rite of Spring" (!) with various horn whoops and calls by yours truly. ($0.99 on itunes.) I had the wonderful opportunity to hear you in a concert in Hillsboro, Oregon a few years back. It was my first time seeing you in concert, and you even played 'Oaks' by my request near the end of the performance. It was so rewarding to hear you live... what a treat!! I used to live in the northwest, but am now in Arizona. If you ever decide to perform down here, I will be your first ticket holder. Keep sharing your music. You're great!

We Absolutely LOVED your concert at the First Presbyterian church in Roseburg last night! You put on such a talented & wonderful performance! Unbelieveable for little ol Roseburg to get Top talent and we have seen a lot of the great performers here vs California, since we retired in Roseburg 2 1/2 years ago. We regularly attend the First Presbyterian church and are in awe of the muscial abilities of several members of that church including Pastors Vicky & Dwayne Brown who make this church such a welcoming experience.

I just came upon your work recently when a friend shared a link to a YouTube clip of Empire Builder on the Acoustic Guitar Magazine's online discussion board. Not sure I can find a word that accurately describes your music - marvelous, fascinating, captivating all apply, but are not near enough.
I am also a fingerstyle guitarist, playing since '60 with some classical background. I'm guessing Eric and I are similar "vintage", with similar playing style - which is probably what got my attention. Plus I have done occasional duets with a dear lady friend, only she plays an alto sax.....quite enjoyable, but no comparison to you two.
Now that we've "met", I may have to email Eric myself and find out what he plays, as the tone and sustain are to die for. I will seek out and explore more of your music.....to another acoustic musician it is ear candy of the finest quality. Very much appreciated!

She and her family stayed at the hotel I was working at, lost her personnal email a few years ago (changing my internet provider) I wanted to know if it is possible I can get in touch with her. I am a professional musician and served in the Military Band system in Canada for 36 years. I retired recently as CPO1/ Assistant Director of Music with the Stadacona Band stationed in Halifax NS.
I heard songs from your latest album on a television feed and was totally taken aback.
I had never heard a combination of oboe and classical guitar before and immediately fell in love with your musical stylings...so relaxing, a unique blend of instruments and emotion filled. I'm now a big fan and thanks a ton!

I stumbled upon your music online and the first piece I listened to was your rendition of the Korean folk tune Spring Maiden and was entranced! The combination of guitar and ocarina/E Horn/oboe is simply fantastic! As a university student studying the oboe and english horn, I'm truly inspired by your work, and I am eager to get my hands on more of your music. Many thanks!

It was 20 years ago today... :)
... that Woodlands was released. Still one of the best "New Age" albums ever, and some of my favourite music of all. I come back to it over and over again. It's beautiful and restful, like taking a deep breath of fresh forest air. When I'm out in nature, this music is my inner soundtrack.
It's a real shame that Narada has allowed this gem to go out of print. They should give it a nice reissue and help it find a new generation of listeners - or at least let Eric & Nancy put it on iTunes!
Thanks Eric, Nancy & David, for this musical gift.

I bought Woodlands quite a while ago but recently started REALLY listening.......I have been playing it over and over and over again....and.....The garden which I have been working on is right outside my kitchen door ....It has really inspired me to listen to the plants and the trees to figure out what their song would be if they could make that kind of music.....I see that you are in town today and that your concert is sold out.....!!!!! synchronicities....I will definitely make it to your next one....Thank you for such gorgeous music!!!!!!!

Hi...
Back in the early 90's I went back to college and took a music class. For extra credit we were instructed to go to one of your concerts. I was not thrilled with the idea as I had no clue to the artist or the music. I sat there that night with tears in my eyes though with the feelings the music brought to me. I bought your CD's that night, and went home and shared them with my wife. We have spent many years of peaceful moments in our home since listening to the music. I just wanted to thank you both.

Hi Nancy my name is Logan and first of all; I just wanted to say that you have been my inspiration for me on wantting to learn how to play oboe. well I'm in the band here in Beulah Alabama, or Opelika Alabama, and I play the Flute, Clarinet, Alto Sax., Tenor sax., Bari. Sax., Trumpet, Baritone, and a little Trombone but I did not want to learn how to play oboe until my step-dad had me listen to some of your stuff and then that is when I wanted to learn how to play oboe, but right now i am having to play the Bari. Sax. because the Bari. Sax player we had became drum- major so my band director needed a bari. sax. player and nobody else knew how to play it but me so he put me on the bari. sax. and i also tried out for drum- major but i didn't make it but that's ok. i really want to learn how to play oboe so i'm trying to ask my parents if they would get me one but when i asked my mom she told me not right now and that i need to stick to one instrument but i really want to learn how to play oboe and i even have the fingering charts and everything. But i just wanted to e-mail you and let you know that you have been my inspiration.

I am desperately trying to find and purchase a CD of Nancy Rumbel's "Music To Celebrate Life" (an album to benefit the Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation). I use the first piece, "Delight" for my preschool special education processional each May. Please write me back asap to let me know if there is anyway I can get a hold of that CD. Hallmark Company could not help me at all (it was sold through Hallmark a few years back). Thank you.

How's this for a small world. I am a good friend of Jim Scotts and on day I was at a friends house whom I print/archive all of his artwork and saw your CD. I said I know her from Jim - and my friend James said "I created the art on this cover"!! - How about that!

It just so happened that I had rented this little DVD from my local library called RAINBOW OF STONE. It's a documentary about the Grand Canyon, and that is a subject I can never seem to know enough about.
And 30 seconds into the opening, the music just really sounds familiar and I'm thinking, 'hey, I know who made this music'. And sure enough, a few seconds later it says music by Nancy Rumbel.
Naturally, I had to watch the DVD more than once just to enjoy the very fine music score. It would be wonderful if some of these pieces would find their way to a T&R CD in the future.
